Stephen
Caudel was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. Regular visits to
Sheffield City Hall to see touring bands such as Genesis, Yes and ELP
engendered an early passion for Progressive / Symphonic Rock music.
Advanced music studies at the City of Leeds College of Music provided
the opportunity for Stephen to learn the complexities of orchestration
which would later prove valuable in the creation of his first Rock Symphony:
'Wine Dark Sea' and later 'The Earth in Turquoise'.

World Premiere of Rock Symphony 'WINE DARK SEA' (sponsored by Capital Radio) at London's Victoria Palace with the Wren Orchestra conducted by Louis Clark of 'Hooked on Classics' and ELO fame. (Caudel to left of conductor) |

The premiere
was recorded by Capital Radio and was broadcast twice on their 'Friday
Night Rock Show' hosted by Alan Freeman, who has consistently championed
Stephen's music over the years. 'Wine
Dark Sea' was to become Stephen's first CD release, produced by
Tom Newman of 'Tubular Bells' fame.

Dark Sea' came the demand for live performances and over the years Stephen
has toured extensively in Britain and overseas, including 3 nights at
the
Royal Albert Hall as Special Guest of Art Garfunkel.(a specially
arranged 'unplugged' acoustic set.)
